Controlled Burning of Lake Edge

Residents may see smoke as a result of a controlled burn to the lake's edge over the next two days.

Waterways

Waterways embraces a design for living that offers a balance between the luxuries of modern life and the beauty of a natural Australian setting.  To help keep Waterways the way Owners want it Waterways has an Owners Corporation with rules and regulations. To learn more about owners responsibilities visit our OC information pages.

Your Waterways Owners Corporation Site

Welcome to the Waterways Owners Corporation website.  We have built this site in response to requests by residents to be able to communicate with each other and to have an online source for residents to view Waterways specific documents.

The site hopes to provide information that you will be able to use to educate yourself about your responsibilities as an Owners Corporation Member. It will also provide opportunities for you to communicate with other members of our community through our forums and be informed about what is happening in and around Waterways, etc.

Community Event - Clean Up Australia Day

Sunday the 4th March was the inaugural Clean up Australia Day at Waterways. We had
25 volunteers including girls from the 5th Brighton Girl Guides. Everyone welcomed the
tools, gloves and water bottles kindly donated by UMS.

The 5th Brighton Girl Guides also ran a completion for the most bags collected by a
group. Congratulations to David Flew & Barbara Maren Winkler-Wolff and their team
for winning the Trash award.

New Parents Group at Waterways

We meet by the Cafe Nest so the adults can have a coffee -- and when we are tired of chasing after the little ones, we sometimes relocate to one of the playgrounds.

Next dates in 2012: April 21, May 5 and 19, June 2 and 16.

Lake Water Quality & Levels - update

Melbourne Water regularly tests the Waterways Lake and from time to time they will erect warning signs around the lake edge for Blue-Green Algae.

If after a three week period the water remains clear, the signs will be removed.

Melbourne Water have recommended that water from the lake is not used for irrigation or the fountains turned on whilst the signs are up.
